69 Creative Kitchen Cabinet Ideas to Refresh Your Space

design cabinets

You don't need a gut renovation to give your kitchen a new life. Traditional shaker-style cabinets are one of the most popular kitchen design choices. Categorized by the simple rectangular frame and inset flat panel, this style of cabinet lends itself to almost any design style, from ultra-modern to French country. The cabinet doors themselves act as a blank canvas, so you can use your hardware choices to reinforce your design style. Whether you're planning a big renovation or want to make small yet impactful changes, we have kitchen cabinet design ideas that go far beyond boring old cupboards. From classic stains and bold paints to detailed kitchen hardware and mixed materials, these designer-approved cabinetry ideas serve as major inspiration.

Mystique Blue Kitchen Cabinets

To help establish a defining sense of place in this Mississippi hunting lodge, designer Richard Keith Langham left room for whimsy, which shows up in details like the bark panels in cabinet doors. The kitchen’s wrought-iron chandelier (Currey & Company) lights a maple-topped island and suede swivel counter stools (Louis J. Solomon). We're sharing our best kitchen cabinet ideas for every design style so you can choose the right options for your space. Salvaged blue barn wood served as the starting point for this kitchen’s blue-and-white color palette. A frame of a muted aqua blue sets off all the colors, while the creamy white cabinetry along the wall lets the island be the room’s focal point. There are many options you’ll want to consider for kitchen cabinet services.

French Gray Cabinets

If your kitchen bleeds into your living, dining room, mudroom, and/or home office, create consistency by using the same paint color and hardware on the cabinets throughout. This black paint and gold hardware combination in a kitchen designed by Fitz Pullins strikes the right balance between approachable and glam. Get more usable space out of your kitchen island by customizing it with extra cabinets and drawers.

Now, everyday items are within easy reach, and matching baskets keep clutter to a minimum. In this seven-story Beaux Arts townhouse in New York, the stone-clad kitchen (Christopher Peacock) features a mix of dolomite, arabescato, and sivec surfaces. Under-island cabinets, as well as upper and lower cabinets in the same style, make for plenty of storage.

6 A bench for lounging and reading was a must-have as the kitchen, which opens to the side garden, is a primary gathering spot. Cedar & Moss sconces and storage add function while throw pillows, including one from Abroad Modern in Cambridge, provide color, texture, and comfort. 2 While the backsplash with crisp, dark grout lines is quite graphic, the handmade tiles from Heath Ceramics have a natural feel with imperfect edges and clay peeking through the glaze. “When you’re in the space you sense the warmth of it,” the architect says. 1 Cabinetry by Walter Lane Cabinet Makers is painted Benjamin Moore’s Stonecutter, an off-black, for a tone-on-tone pairing with black soapstone countertops. “We settled on a dark palette early on, then built out from there,” Goff says.

A countertop-to-ceiling backsplash of Mexican tiles balances the vibrant jewel-toned hue. One Kings Lane designer Sarah Blank opted for a calming blue for the shelves, brackets, and walls of this kitchen, lending more cohesion to the space. Pegasus marble countertops, linen white cabinetry paint, and black accents temper the red. Arts and Crafts style is a study in earth tones, geometry, and fine craftsmanship. The cabinetry's recessed panels framed with flat faces resemble classic Shaker style. But where simple Shaker style leaves off and Arts and Crafts begins is in the added details. Glass-fronted upper cabinets detailed with wood muntins, arched details beneath the cabinets, and hammered copper pulls complete the look. Distinct finishes and details are necessary to give new cabinetry an old-world feel.

Love the look of floating shelves, but don't want your dishes to get dusty? Install glass doors on all of your upper cabinets and keep the lower cabinets basic. Show off your favorite finds in the glass cabinets (ideally in a similar color palette) so they’ll draw attention. The most cost effective way to install kitchen cabinets is to buy them from a big box store and assemble and install them yourself. While prefabricated kitchen cabinets are less expensive than custom-built cabinetry installed by a professional, they will not stand up over time, potentially costing you more in the long run.

The impressive retail space is now about double the size of what was there prior. Anchor Holt Renfrew is also in the process of a significant renovation. Departments are being shifted around as the store’s ground floor is transformed into a luxury brand destination, primarily housing leased concession boutiques for some of the world’s biggest names.

However, Brian Hill still remains deeply involved in the business and holds 18.7% equity interest. He recently sold a part of his equity interest for estate planning and diversification purposes. Aritzia’s SG&A expenses increased from $184 million (25% of revenue) to $551 million (28% of revenue) for LTM November 2022.

How many Aritzia stores are there in the United States?

The remaining 5% of revenue comes of sales of third party branded products such as sneakers (Vans, New Balance). Aritzia first opened as a standalone boutique in Vancouver in 1984 with the goal to provide high-quality and beautiful clothing to women. Stars like Meghan Markle, Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Hailey Bieber have all been spotted in Aritzia's product. Some have even appeared in marketing and social media campaigns. Last week, Canadian-based fashion retailer Aritzia opened its first Minnesota location at Mall of America. The new, 8,000 square foot store is located on the first floor of the west wing, in the space previously occupied by H&M next to Columbia Sportswear.

The last pillar of Aritzia’s brand is its marketing strategy. The company does not use traditional media to promote its products. In addition to relying on its physical stores, the company primarily engages social media influencers to promote its products. The brand is also further flued by its popularity among its customers who like posting about their shopping experiences (shopping hauls) on social media platforms such as TikTok where Aritzia has almost 2 billion views. Aritzia’s minimalist store set up is appealing to influencers. In addition to a very active reddit discussion group, Aritzia also has over 1.4 million followers on Instagram.

For LTM November 2022, Canada, and US both represented 50% of total revenue of Aritzia. It is important to note that US revenue was only 34% of total revenue in FY2021. Over FY2018 to LTM, the US revenue has grown at CAGR of 39% and the Canadian revenue has grown at a CAGR of 13%. Aritzia opened its first stores outside of Vancouver in 1999.

Yorkdale launches more first-to-Canada international retailers than any single location, with recent additions including Diptique, Acne Studios, Ganni and the fist standalone Fendi. Luxury brands are an important part of the mix with Bulgari and Cartier having both recently expanded storefronts. Anchor Holt Renfrew, which spans about 130,000 square feet, is said to have sales in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

Mall of America's VP of Leasing Kathy Rusche says she is thrilled to add Aritzia to the mall's eclectic mix of retailers as they continue the trend of offering first-to-market stores to its 40 million annual guests. We’ve got four shops spread throughout the West Coast, full of clothes that’ll pop against a mural wall. Swing by one of our stores to say hi, try new styles, collect compliments, etc. Our LA flagship at Westfield Century City is over 10,000 square feet and includes a personal-shopping room with private checkout. This bright, airy space is filled with our latest collection, set against dynamic architectural details. Aritzia, while not a prestige or luxury retailer, fits in with the transformation of the Yonge and Bloor intersection.

Clothes are only a part of the experience– Aritzia also places emphasis on the visual appeals of each store. As you step foot into an Aritzia, the uniqueness of the location is something to take note of. Each Aritzia is styled based on the space provided, taking into consideration local influences, custom interior pieces, and natural materials.

Later this year, grocerant concept Eataly will open its first location at the nearby Manulife Centre, which will span about 50,000 square feet over three levels. Christian Dior is building its largest store in North America at The Colonnade at 131 Bloor Street West (Chanel relocated its flagship nearby in the fall of 2017). What started out as merely a quaint Vancouver boutique hidden between a vast array of shopping stores transformed into an innovative design house across North America. Today we can see signature pieces dawning on the likes of contemporary fashion for women– from young adults to middle-aged.

For LTM November 2022, Aritzia has spent $104 million in capital expenditure. In FY2022, the company also acquired a 75% stake in the men’s athletic brand, “Reigning Champ”, for $33 million. The number of employees per boutique has increased substantially from 24 in FY2020 to 42 in FY2022. In other words, the retail revenue per employee has decreased significantly from $329K in FY2020 to $211K in FY2022. This indicates decreasing retail employee productivity, however at a company level the margins are strong because eCommerce, which is a higher margin business, has gained share in overall revenue. It will be interesting to see how this figure trends over time.

The general aesthetic of an Aritzia store is a contemporary feel with an eclectic touch to promote comfortable browsing. Original sculptures, paintings, and prints adorn the walls of each location. Just recently, Aritzia placed gaming machines within the stores to keep those accompanying shoppers occupied. At 115 stores, the retail revenue of $1,325 million represents average annual revenue per store of $11.5 million.

Though there were already several stores in Vancouver, each with a unique look, the reatiler wanted to create a more uniform design that could be expanded nationally. The owner turned to locally based McKinley Dang Burkart to create a retro-chic design that reflects the eclectic clothing. Designers took cues from the 60s and 70s, using figured woods — rosewood, teak, Australian wood and really differently cut, grained mahogany — and a lot of circle/square motifs in the fixtures. The result is a light, sleek space infused with modern interpretations of vintage elements; the most noteworthy of which are the wood-grained fixtures. At the time of its IPO in 2016, Aritzia set certain financial goals, included doubling its total revenue and increasing eCommerce to 25% of total revenue.

Aritzia TSE: ATZ Strong brand at an attractive valuation Company Deep Dive

Having its own brands allows Aritzia to have more control over product quality and pricing. One of the reasons Aritzia is so popular is because it is able to make on-trend items that are of a higher quality than what you can get at fast fashion retailers like Shein. But Aritzia’s clothes aren’t so expensive that mainstream consumers can’t afford to shop there. You can also get a pair of leggings at Aritzia for around $50 while a similar pair at lululemon will cost around $25 more. Bloor Street is also in the process of a significant shift as new retailers descend on the area.

Here we can see that the company continues to expand its title within both countries. Wong believes that these numbers underline the notion that long-term success is prevalent. The company plans to strategically invest in infrastructure so that they can capitalize on growth strategies. Aritzia Community™ is an organization aiding in poverty alleviation, mentorship, and job readiness. 445,000 women have been positively impacted by Aritzia’s mission to help women and girls succeed in their personal and professional lives. Aritzia contributed over $40 million in donations of products, financial support, and volunteer hours to nonprofits and Aritzia partners such as The Brotherhood Sister Sol– a program supporting Black and Latinx youth.

Back in 2017, Aritzia assessed the business to benchmark where they need to better their production methods sustainability-wise. Conducting the comprehensive assessment allowed the company to prioritize working with their team of specialists in developing goals and achieving positive outcomes. The Environmental Policy outlines their vision pertaining to sustainability and requirements to be sustainable.

Aritzia aims to produce clothing that can be maintained beyond just one season of wear. Back in 2010, Aritzia kicked off their sustainability initiatives by launching the Community brand to incubate sustainability. Immediately after, the company banned fur from all their products. Since 2010, Aritzia has been taking steps toward being as sustainable as possible– Aritzia joined UN Global Impact in 2021 as the most recent initiative. The clothes you want to wear right now, timeless design and quality you can love forever. Our Style Advisors have an eye for what looks good (and aren’t afraid to tell you when something’s not quite right). Book a personal shopping appointment right now in any of our boutiques. Flued by store expansions and growth in the U.S., we expect revenue per store to rise from $11.5 million in LTM November 2022, to $14 million in FY2027. In addition to reinvesting in the business for growth, the management has been opportunistically buying back shares. Since its IPO, Aritzia has bought has 8.7 million shares for $187 million. Average cost comes to $21 per share which is less than half of the current share price of $47.3.

Pillar 5: Marketing

A dedicated basement level mall entrance features Aritzia signage with access upstairs into the store itself, as per the photo below. Perhaps the most impressive part of the store is located at the back — through a marble archway is a stunning dressing room area and lounge featuring rich woods, plush furniture, and whimsical antiques. We visited the expanded Aritzia over the weekend and were impressed with how busy it was. Loud, thumping music set the mood, and the store was surprisingly vibrant in a part of the city that is typically subdued. Dozens of staff are on duty at any one time, and we’d say that the new store would be one of the busiest on the street, and that includes considerably larger stores such as Louis Vuitton and Holt Renfrew. The new store features an imposing facade that spans almost triple the width of the former, smaller store. Last year Aritzia updated its logo from a stylized design to more of a traditional font (that is also arguably more readable). A large marquee entrance with dozens of lightbulbs greet shoppers on the street into the new store.

EBITDA margin for LTM November 2022 was lower compared to FY2022 due to lower gross margins. As of January 27, 2023, Aritzia had a market capitalization of $5,220 million and FY2022 revenues of $1,495 million. Aritizia has also benefited from organic impressions when celebrities like Meghan Markle wear Aritzia’s clothing. Markle was first spotted wearing a beautiful burgundy Aritzia dress in 2017 during her first public event as Prince Harry’s girlfriend. That jacket sold out in six hours after Markle was seen wearing it.

The only other Venchi location in Florida is in Aventura, about 30 miles south. The retailer, popular among New Yorkers, is most known for its nougatine — small candies made of crushed and caramelized hazelnuts, then coated in dark chocolate. At the current share price of $47.3 per share, and an intrinsic value estimate of $65 per share, Aritzia presents an upside opportunity of ~36%. We are confident in the management’s ability to scale the business over the next five years. We are also cautious of risks relating to competition and maintaining brand relevance. Considering that Aritzia has 80% ROIC at the store level, this is not a surprise.

The company is expected to deliver net revenue in the range of $565 million to $590 million in Q3 2023, increasing 25% to 30% from last year. Aritzia anticipates the opening of eight new boutiques and five expansions/repositions within North America for fiscal 2023. Aritzia expects a decrease in gross profit margin, net capital expenditures to be in the range of $110 million to $120 million, and net revenue to be in the range of $2.0 billion to $2.05 billion. Behind the neutral cashwrap midway through the store, individual square wood panels side-by-side create a large square that continues the vintage feel.

Further, Aritzia’s revenue is bucketed toward Q3 and Q4 of the financial year which together account for 60% of the annual revenue. Aritzia’s store expansion generally involve increasing the existing selling space by 3,500 square feet. The net investment for the expansion is $2 million and a payback period of around 24 months. Aritzia has grown its store count from 28 in FY2008 to 115 as of November 2022 as at annual compounded annual growth rate (“CAGR”) of around 10%. It currently has 67 stores in Canada and 48 stores in the US. Store growth in its home market of Canada has stagnated since FY2019 and most of the growth is coming from the US where is a relatively newer brand.

The renovation features a striking brick facade and wall veneers that immediately set a distinct tone for the store, blending seamlessly with the Village at Corte Madera’s aesthetic. Inside, the store welcomes customers with beautifully inlaid tile flooring that proudly bears the Aritzia name, offering a unique and inviting shopping experience. Additionally, the store boasts custom millwork fitting rooms, combining privacy, comfort, and style to enhance the customer experience.

Drink Packages Sodas, Beers, Spirits and More

In our experience, the bartenders at this bar definitely made the strongest drinks on board our ship. The cost of the Cheers Package is $59.95 per person, per day if purchased on Carnival’s website before your cruise. If you opt to buy it on the ship, the price goes up to $64.95 per person, per day. One policy that can take some getting used to is that you are free to take your drink anywhere on the ship. So if you head to a bar, you can then take the beverage with you to the pool, the dining room, your cabin, or the theater.

Honoring Service: Carnival Sunrise’s Newest Addition Celebrates Military Heroes

Different Carnival Cruise ships have different bar menus, but for the most part, they tend to be very similar. This Cheers drinks package is offered at a price of $64.95 per day per adult. If one adult in a stateroom purchases the package, ALL adults in that stateroom also need to order it. The Serenity Pool Bar was our favorite spot on at-sea days.

Carnival Cruise Full Beer Menu (With Prices)

Was on the Pride 3 weeks ago, and it was at every bar I stopped at. To complement your meal, they offer a dedicated cocktail menu so you can savor a special drink with your entrée. Exclusively found on the Carnival Celebration in The Gateway zone, the Latitudes Bar is dedicated to serving cocktails from around the world. It’s in the French Quarter Zone and has beautifully themed cocktails that are sure to shock you. You can also add an extra shot to your drinks for $4, but these aren’t included in the Cheers!

Coffee Bar

Now you can enjoy those vacation flavors on every ship… in cans of original, Carnival-exclusive beers. These cans are available on every Carnival ship, along with some newer brews you've just gotta try. And exclusively on tap at our onboard breweries you’ll find Heroes American Pale Ale.

The entire ship is open for you to enjoy with a beverage. Guy’s Pig and Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse is created by none other than Guy Fieri. Aside from the great food, guests can enjoy their exclusive line of Parched Pig craft brews.

It is available on more than half od the Carnival Cruise Line fleet. You’ll find a SkyBox sports bar on roughly half of Carnival’s fleet, where you can catch the game on a large screen and indulge in one of their signature cocktails. The drink options are standard cocktails and martinis, starting at $10.50. Here you can find classic Italian cocktails like a bellini or Aperol spritz. In addition to the main bars on board, Carnival also offers a variety of specialty bars that cater to specific tastes.

ChiBang Wine List and Cocktail Menu

With each journey, you’re promised fun-filled days and nights, and a wide range of beverage options to quench your thirst in style. From the sophisticated sipper to the beer enthusiast, most Carnival ship’s drink offerings have something for everyone. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, enjoying a romantic dinner, or dancing the night away, you can always find the perfect drink to complement the occasion. So if you order a drink with a $10 menu price, you’ll actually pay $11.80 in total.

On Excel-class ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration, and Jubilee), Java Blue Cafe also offers sandwiches and snacks throughout the day. It’s available exclusively on Carnival Jubilee in the Currents zone. It is located where the Brass Magnolia bar is on the Mardi Gras and Golden Jubilee on the Celebration. This bar is available on most Carnival cruise ships. While it has different names, this menu is typically found at the bar in the ship’s lobby or atrium. You can also find this menu in most of the dining rooms.

If you’re going to a Comedy Show on a Carnival ship, you have some specialty cocktails to choose from. Some ships have a dedicated “Punchliner Comedy Club” venue. On the other ones, the comedy club will take place in the Limelight Lounge or another venue with “Lounge” in its name. This bar may be confusing because Carnival uses odd naming for their venues.

The piano bar has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly musicians. Grab a drink, and ask the piano player to play your favorite song. Having a beer may as well be considered the national pastime of taking a cruise. It just feel unnatural to hang out by the pool without a beer in hand. About half of the Carnival fleet has a SkyBox sports bar where you can watch the game on the big screen and sample one of these cocktails. You can find the SkyBox Sports Bar on the Conquest, Freedom, Glory, Horizon, Liberty, Miracle, Pride, Spirit, Radiance, Sunrise, Sunshine, Valor, and Vista.

The line's rendition has a modern twist -- an open space with a curving bar, sleek furniture, faux teak accents and pops of color throughout. Menu reflects an increase in price from $10.95 to $12.00 in May 2022. Note that if you sail Carnival from Australia, then the drinking age is lowered to 18 years old on the ship. There are no “open container” rules like you see on land.

It features plenty of spots to watch the game, multiple TVs and a familiar sports bar vibe. For many passengers, it’s not a cruise unless they have a drink in their hand. And with Carnival known as the “Fun Ships,” you better believe there are plenty of spots where you can grab an adult beverage and let loose. Meanwhile, as beer tastes have evolved and craft brews have become more popular, the list of what’s available continues to expand. No longer do you have to choose between Bud and Miller.

Don’t forget to add in the 18% gratuity on top of the price. In general, we suggest using this as a chance to try something new. But just know that if there is something you really want to drink and don’t see it on a menu, don’t hesitate to ask.

You will need to pay extra for these, either à la carte or through one of Carnival’s drink packages. Carnival’s extensive drink menu is tailored to suit everyone’s tastes and preferences. For those who enjoy an alcoholic drink, the cocktail selection is a treat, offering classics and innovative creations. The RedFrog Tiki Bar and Havana Bar are famed for their specialty cocktails, transporting you to a tropical paradise with each sip. If you prefer beer, there’s a wide variety, including craft beers from Guy’s Pig & Anchor Brewhouse.

Nevermind the small difference in name, they have a similar vibe as a fun tropical-themed bar serving beers, rum drinks, and anything else under the sun. If you want a place with an upbeat vibe and a drink with an umbrella in it, make sure to stop by. In fact, you have an amazing amount of options, not just in spots where you can find something to drink but also in what’s available onboard. From wine to beer to cocktails and more, no matter what you’re craving there will be a spot on the ship where you can find it. This chill bar is a popular stop for tequila beverages and ice-cold Mexican Cerveza.
